Easter Weekend

Let's go back to Easter weekend with 25 cent ice cream cones and cotton candy, dying eggs, getting dressed up, playing with easter bunnies, and shooting guns, and eating candy till we got sick, and then eating more.

see ya never.

But really.. I feel like I don't have time to blog anymore! Between working 29 hours a week, editing pictures, working out (getting wedding ready.. ya know!), eating, spending any other available time with my fiance (eek!!), and going to bed at a reasonable hour.... When am I supposed to blog?!

That makes me sad..

So I'm going to try still. But it may be far and in between...

So here are a few tidbits.

This is what they call the golden hour... And I love it.

Chance and I crafted a mug this weekend. To go in our future cupboards.. cute huh?

Oh... I also bought like 5 other mugs. Because I'm a mug person... especially a Christmas mug person. Love to thrift!

holy smokes I love Halloween.

There's something different about this October. I love all holidays, really. But I am getting super into Halloween this year. And I am loving it. Probably because I found lots of things I can do and have fun that AREN'T SCARY. And this being one of them:

WITCH FEST!

Gardner Village has this little Witch Fest party the whole place is decorated with the cutest witches and other halloween decorations and everyone dresses up as witches and just walks around the shops. It's totally silly, and that's why I love it. I seriously never grew out of playing dress up. And I love having the opportunity to wear those awesome striped leggings, and halloween vest I got from Savers for THREE DOLLARS. Definitely the start of a tradition!

Seriously, can there be 2 Octobers every year?...

remember how much i love ice skating?

so much so,
that i made chance take me
in the middle of summer!!

and OHHHH how much i loved it.

i will say that i enjoy it better outside,

but still.

i love ice skating SO much.

and it's fun to do in shorts too:)

sometimes i want summer forever...

and then i remember how much i love a white christmas

and ice skating outside,

so summer forever just wouldn't be cut out for me.

when i didn't know them.
we grew up together.
same elementary school.
same church.
same interests.

of course we had some rough patches.

but at the end of it all
we are still friends.
the best of friends.

we may not hang out everyday.
we go to different schools now.
we are in different wards.
we have different interests.
we have different groups of friends.

but we are still friends...

you should probably be jealous...
haha

so after being best friends for 19 years,
naturally we wanted to do something really fun together.
so camping it is.
all on our own.
no parents.
no adults.
no boys.
just us 4.

i enjoy people

i enjoy some-what large
get togethers with my friends from high school.

especially when we get sno cones..
with ice cream in it..
and ryan pays for mine..
what a sweetheart!
summer nights are so sweet...

ouch?

i don't swear.
i just don't.
those words aren't a part of my vocabulary really.
and living in utah
and with the friends that i have
i don't hear swearing that often,
much less directed towards me.

however today. all of that changed...
{i'm making this way more dramatic than it should be.. haha}

me and annie
had just been enjoying summer.
we took the tandem bike up to the park
rode around,
played on the playground,
took videos,
just having a good time.

then i had the idea to go buy slurpees
from 7-11 with the change from the car!
great idea?
yeah i thought so too.

so we go to 7-11.
purchase our slurpees
and turn to go out to the car.
the way out to the door
is a bit narrow
and there was an old lady standing on the side
making it even narrower
and another lady walked in.
i went to just go in between them,
but the lady and i both turned the same way,
you know that awkward situation
when you try to get out of the person's way
but they move the same way?
yeah that happened.
so i just kind of giggled and
said sorry!
and walked out.
annie gets into the car
and as i open the car door
the door to 7-11 swings open
and i hear
"learn to have some courtesy bi****!"
yup,
she said it
right to me.
i was in shock.
at first i didn't even know she was talking to me.
i just stood there
and she walked back in.
then i got upset.
we got upset.
how rude was that!
okay so maybe i should have stepped to the side
so she could walk by,
but it's not like i bumped into her
or gave her this attitude of
"get out of my way".
honestly it's a pretty hypocritical statement...
obviously i'm not going to learn to be courteous from you!

it really put a damper on our day.
we were having so much fun
not a care in the world..
even though i knew i wasn't really the bad word she called me
it still hurt!
it makes me sad!
we even tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.
maybe she was having a bad day or something...
but we just felt it was so uncalled for!

we tried to just shake it off,
but it was really bothering us.

luckily
these bad feelings were countered
not too much later.
we went to see footloose
at the draper arts theater
and when we were sitting on the grass
a stranger behind us offered to let us sit on his blankets
because he had chairs.
we had blankets already
but i really appreciated his offer!
especially after what had happened earlier.
and it reminded me that there are still nice people in this world.
so now i'm over it.
and i've forgiven her.
everyone has their own story...
and i'm really not a b word.
i'm seriously not hard core enough to be one!
haha...

but really..

so other than that.
it was a LOVELY day
filled with fun with my best friend,
crossing stuff off our summer list,
and a beautiful summer night.

it's over 70 degrees

which means it's officially SHORTS WEATHER!!!!
first off, i had my field work and i just got to play soccer outside for 2 hours.


and me and ann decided to sport our summer gear to school.

right as my last class was coming to a close i received a call

from a strange number.

when class ended i went out and called the number back

"hi who's this?"

"is this aubrey?"

"yes..."

"hey it's joseph!"

joseph lives in my apartment complex.

i went to the jazz game with him!

maybe.. but he didn't judge and it was way fun!

and we went to chili's after at like 10:30

where we thought the couple next to us was having a really awkward

first date..
