Happy Easter!
Easter truly is a remarkable holiday.
The holiday that really completes Christmas-
after all Christ was born into this world to die for us.
Each and every one of us.
To take upon him our sins,
break the chains of death,
and be resurrected,
making it possible for all of us to return to him again!
if that doesn't make you happy and grateful, I dont know what will!
my plan was to go to my stake conference at my home ward,
when in the middle of getting ready for church, {about 9:20am}
i remembered...
'COLLIN'S FARWELL!
It's like RIGHT now!'
so i rush to get my phone to see a text
from emmie saying
"why aren't you at collin's farwell?"
thinking i already missed it
i texted back asking if he already spoke.
she said they were still taking the sacrament.
they must have really been running behind!
so i hurried to get finish getting ready
and rushed out the door.
I found that i had to take the BEAST
{that's the suburban...}
i dislike driving that whale of a car.
i drive to find that there is NO parking at the church,
so i am left to park
basically on a cliff.
it's about 9:45 at this point
and i assume i have missed it,
but i'll go in and say hi to him at least.
BUT he still hadn't spoken yet!
i guess they had 2 baby blessings
AND the sacrament took forever 'cause the place was packed.
collin is a popular guy!
so i find a seat
literally on the very back row
next to my best friend lauren!
I got to hear Collin speak,
and though it was only for a short time
i can tell he is going to be a wonderful missionary!
he loves his savior and is ready to serve.
so here we go again.
there goes another!
good luck elder herd!
the people of Mexico are ready for you!
and the rest of easter's festivities continued.
easter baskets:
{hidden in the living room as always, and some how mom finds new hiding spots every year}
candy, a little money, a new paris journal to add to my collection!
then off to grandma's for the big hunt
and yummy dinner.
honestly i'm pretty sick of candy.
after making all those chocolate eggs
and eating all the candy around
i am sick of it.
but i'm sure i'll be ready for some tomorrow!
after getting to full from dinner
me, ike, and scoot head up to the green room to
"digest"
meaning we sprawl out on the bed hahahaha.
it was a successful easter surrounded by love and family.
{PS}
my sister in-law ashley teaches primary
and told us this story:
a little boy was raising his hand anxiously
wanting to bare his testimony.
they let him go up to the microphone and he says
"KIDS! Listen to me! Easter is not about the easter bunny or easter eggs!
it is about jesus christ being....
reversed! {he couldn't remember the word resurrection}
he came back to life!
he is alive!"
then he sat down.
hahahaha i was cracking up.
i love that so so much!!
i love little kids.
they are so great.
it's a great day to be alive!
