you should know who anna marilyn pinnock is.
i mean, she is only mentioned in just about every post.
but if you don't,
you are about to.
i met annie when i was in about 3rd grade.
she and her sisters were apart of these performing groups
that my brothers were in.
when they both performed at trolly square
i had been playing on the escalators.
you know,
running up the down one
and down the up one.
i remember it vividly.
soon i found a girl start to play with me.
i asked her her name.
"i'm annie!"
"my name's aubrey!"
and just as little kids do,
we were instantly friends.
as we both had to go home i thought a lot about her.
i was always scared to try things when i was little
because i was afraid i wouldn't make friends.
but as soon as i had realized i had made a friend already
i thought maybe i could join the performing studio she was in!
she was about my age so i would be in her group!
however,
i did not join the studio right away.
i first took dance from another studio a few years later
and then
and decided to take group vocal lessons from the studio my brothers {and annie was in}
little did i know
the girl from the escalators would be in the group vocal lessons too!
i knew i recognized her from the escalators
but it had been a few years and i didn't even think she would remember.
i don't think i even said anything about it for a while.
finally,
i brought it up.
and she remembered!
i was thrilled.
we became better friends
and i made more friends in the group vocals
and finally got enough courage to join the studio.
best decision i have ever made.
ever.
and i give the credit to annie.
although we weren't in the same group until my sophomore year of high school (her junior year)
she was really close to my brother chad,
and our groups had gone on tour together:
colorado,
missouri-where we were roomies!
florida!
she always treated me like one of her best friend
even though we never hung out
or even talked a ton.
she was always excited to see me,
always greeted me with a hug,
and always asked me how i was doin and what was going on in my life.
whether she knew it or not,
it really meant a lot to me.
then we were finally in the same group.
FAME and PASSION.
we grew even closer and really became good friends. best friends.
chad was also in our group and he only made us become closer.
me and chad went to her musical and synergy performances when she was in it her first year.
i loved supporting one of my best friends!
the year after she left fame, and i was in fame again
she got to come on tour with us, as sort of a chaperone.
IT WAS SO AWESOME!
even though we didn't get to ride in the same bus sometimes
but we made lots of great memories there.
soon after my senior year
i was deciding where i wanted to go to college.
byu was my first choice
and ann was trying to transfer there {she spent her first year at the U}
we decided if we both got in we were going to live together for sure!
however,
neither of us got it
and my fall back was UVU.
ann wasn't sure what she wanted to do
but i let her know that UVU was an option and that she could still live with me.
she debated on staying at the U and other schools for a while.
i REALLY wanted her to come with me
but i didn't want to pressure her into anything and i wanted her to make the decision for herself.
when i was on spring break in St. george with some friends
i received a voicemail from annie that said
"hey best friend! i was just wondering if you were still needing a roommate at uvu, cause i'd love to be yours! call me back!"
I FLIPPED.
honestly i was soooooooo excited!
and it was set.
we were living together at UVU in the fall.
August 24th 2011 i moved in with my best friend!
although she didn't start living down there for a few days.
that started one of the best, most memorable years of my life!
i thought i knew annie and that we were close before
but i know her even more and we are even closer.
yes. it's possible.
annie is some one i want to be like.
outgoing.
funny.
serving.
selfless.
compassionate.
loving.
NICE.
goofy.
confident.
beautiful.
she has ALWAYS been there for me.
i have some rough days.
she knows what to say.
she knows when i'm upset, even when i don't say anything.
she does SO much for me!
she probably spent more money on me then any boy ever would... hahaha
not because i have no money, not because she felt like she had to.
because she's generous.
it's in her nature.
the love she has for me
makes me love her even more!
she's such a good friend,
it's unreal.
annie and i have never been in a fight.
how many people can say that about their best friend?
especially after living with them for a year?
being her friend is easy.
we get along so well.
we never get sick of each other.
we build each other up.
we are honest with each other.
we have had a lot of amazing experiences together.
we always have more fun when the other is there.
where ever we go, if we are alone
some one will ask "where's your other half?"
when she goes some where with out me
they ask "where's aubrey?"
when i go some where with out her
they ask "where's annie?"
and it doesn't bother either of us.
so...
you can bet it was pretty hard moving out today.
cleaning up all our stuff.
taking down all our pictures.
realizing that i will have my own room again
and i'm not super happy about it.
and the only reason i'm not breaking down
is because i know it's not the end.
because i will be seeing A LOT of her this summer
and sleepovers
and performing
and everything.
because best friends do everything together.
and the kind of friendship we have is rare.
and so i know it won't go away.
there's a lot of people that made my first year of college
as amazing as it was and i will miss them tons!
but i owe most of it to my
roommate,
best friend,
and,
sister
anna. marilyn. pinnock.
