S.R.B

remember how i mentioned our photography final
was to take pictures
that tell a story?
well and and ann finished one story
and today we did our other one.

[ann's idea.]

we have this friend
her name is sophie rose barton.
she is in annie's stake in holladay
and i did the clayton dance group with her for a few years.
in my group
i had my "special group" of friends,
like everyone does.
it consisted of
me
tori borg
mckail seely
and
sophie rose barton.

we did everything together
we laughed
we talked
we roomed on tour
and such.

after like the 3rd year of this
all of those girls quit the group.
i was soooo sad.
but i knew we all would stay friends.
we didn't keep in touch as much as i would have liked,
but we did.

a few years later
i remember,
i got a call from tori.
she had told me that sophie had passed away
up at girls camp.
i was shocked.
it was so weird to think that some one i knew
that was my age, was just gone..

i went to the funeral with ann
and i have never seen anything so beautiful.
he family was so strong.
i was amazed at the love for their daughter and sister.

i have really come to know sophie in a different way
than i had before.
she really is an amazing person
and it makes you wonder, why her?
why her family?

people still write on her facebook wall.
i love reading them all.
i write on it sometimes too.

a few days after her passing
annie brought me a necklace
that was made out of a pic
[she and her sister played guitar and sang together A LOT. love their music]
and says S.B for sophie barton
with a rose on it.
i never take it off.
she makes me want to be a better person
all around
as well as so many others.

it has been a little over a year since she has been gone
from this world.
but she is all around.
she is in the moon.
she is in the roses.
she is in music.
she is in the heart.
i honestly love her.
her music calms me down.
her example makes me better.

for our project
annie had the idea to do a story about sophie.
perfect.
we went to sophie's house
and talked to her mother.
they were so close.
she would talk about some things she and sophie did
and some of it reminded of me and my mom.

they have their christmas tree dedicated to her.
they call it the "dream tree"
it is so beautiful.
it is filled with pictures,
and letters
and ornaments all donated
by many people for her.

we sat in her room.
on her bed.
looked through her music journal.
pictures of her everywhere.
we looked in her closet.
nothing has been moved since she passed.
and there was such a spirit there.
she was with us.

it was so sad yet so happy.
she may be gone from this world
but she is not gone
for we know we will see her again.
but still, it is hard.
i love her mother anne-marie.
she is an amazing person and mother.

after visiting there
we went to sophies grave.
we sat
and we talked to her.
we wrote letters to her.
and sent them to her with balloons.
it was so good to see her
and be there.

it was such a great day
that i will never forget.

if i were to die
and people said half of what they say to sophie,
to me,
i will be unbelievably happy.

"Feel the fear and do it anyways"- Sophie Rose Barton

LOVE YOU SOPHIE ROSE!
[we took pictures throughout the day thank you anne-marie and trent for taking them!]

[ps i went to tucanos on a date with a kid i barely knew. haha
he was super nice and great.
the food.
wow.
im still full.
soo much meat!
i even tried the chicken heart.

then episode after episode of super nanny.

oh and me and katie are goofs. and we laugh.]
